Overview
Installation Method
Planetary gearboxes are widely used in servo, stepping, and DC drive systems due to their small size, high transmission efficiency, wide speed reduction range, and high precision. Their main function is to reduce speed, increase torque, and reduce the inertia ratio of the load/motor, while ensuring precise transmission.
In recent years, some users have experienced output shaft breakage due to improper installation and other human factors, resulting in unnecessary losses. Therefore, to better assist users, we provide detailed instructions on the correct installation of planetary gearboxes.
Correct installation, use, and maintenance of gearboxes are crucial for the normal operation of mechanical equipment. Therefore, when installing planetary gearboxes, please strictly follow the installation and usage instructions below.
Step One
Before installation, confirm that the motor and gearbox are undamaged and carefully check if the dimensions of the connecting parts of the motor and gearbox match, including the motor's positioning protrusion, input shaft, and gearbox groove dimensions and tolerances.
Step Two
Remove the screws on the dust cover of the gearbox flange, adjust the PCS system clamping ring so that its side hole aligns with the dust cover hole, and tighten it with a hex wrench. Then, remove the motor shaft key.
Step Three
Connect the motor and gearbox naturally. During connection, ensure the concentricity of the gearbox output shaft and the motor input shaft, and that the outer flanges are parallel. Inconsistent concentricity can lead to motor shaft breakage or gearbox gear wear.
Furthermore, during installation, do not use hammers or similar tools to avoid damage to bearings or gears from excessive axial or radial forces. Tighten the mounting bolts before tightening the clamping bolts. Before installation, clean the anti-rust oil on the motor input shaft, positioning protrusion, and gearbox connection parts with gasoline or zinc-sodium water to ensure a tight connection and smooth operation, and prevent unnecessary wear. Before connecting the motor and gearbox, align the motor shaft keyway with the clamping bolt vertically. To ensure even force distribution, first tighten the bolts at any two diagonal positions, but do not fully tighten them, then tighten the bolts at the other two diagonal positions, and finally tighten all four mounting bolts individually. Finally, tighten the clamping bolts. All clamping bolts must be tightened and checked using a torque wrench according to the specified tightening torque.
The correct installation of the gearbox with mechanical equipment is similar to the correct installation of the gearbox with the drive motor. The key is to ensure the concentricity between the gearbox output shaft and the driven shaft.
